FIRST BLOG POST!

Hey folks, Dave here...

A little update on the Festerus. I lubed up the passegner's side window and it is working fine now. The driver's side was a little more trouble as it had jumped out of the track. After taking the door panel off, removing the regulator assembly, bending around on it, slotting some of the screw holes, lubing everything, and putting it back together it works fairly well. It's not perfect but it is a good as it will be without a new window regulator.

I plan to attack the cigarette lighter tonight... gotta have power for the electronic goodies.

Oh, I also looked at the A/C. The line was broken where it connects to the compressor. The compressor appears to be in reasonable shape. It isn't locked up and makes compressor-like noises when you rotate it. The bad side is that I can't find a new line anywhere (goes between the compressor and the evaporator core at the firewall). It looks like the car has "Factory" air as opposed to "Dealer Installed" A/C. None of the lines pictured on the Napa/Autozone/Advance/Oreilly sites look anything like it. I also called Ford and found that they had discontinued the part. Not really surprised there. Royal Brass and Hose tells me they might be able to repair the old line but I'll be surprised if they can do anything with it.

I'm going to run out to a local junkyard during lunch. They had a few Festivas last time I was there and I plan to look for a few window cranks, the A/C line, and a back seat.
